Principals Note December 2021
The Principal’s Note!
Greetings to all of you.
What an emotional roller coaster year we had. As we draw the curtains to 2021, let me pay tribute to all and sundry for dedication, determination and fortitude in abundance against all odds. This year we have experienced too many hardships, and the difficult of these has been the loss of our loved ones through fate or chance. We mourn everyone of them.
Let me share some of the snippets that will make this a year to remember:
Academic:
The Class of 2020 brought much joy to the school community with the unrivalled
93% pass results in the recent past as we ushered in a new decade.
Staff:
The school welcomed two new members on board ,namely Ms.Ntozini and Mr.Vayo
to teach in the Foundation and Intermediate phase, respectively. Also, the SMT
was beefed up with the appointment of Mrs. Gxamza,S as the HOD in the primary
section of the school. The school is still reeling in shock with the untimely loss of the
industrious Mrs Dyasi, Ntombizanele, a spiritual mother of the HKCS family, who
succumbed to cryptogenic stroke. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
Co-Curricula:
The donation of copious reading material by the Broubart Group meant the re-establishment of the school library, this can only bode well to the reading nation.
Born Free Foundation started an environment club with the learners which was
welcomed by HKCS community, as it targets the youth with a purpose of environment awareness. SK [Sifunda Kunye] held a writing competition and our learners hoisted the school flag high with Tsamse,Thembakazi(Grade 9) getting in the podium for a second position.
Festivities:
Despite the dark cloud of the pandemic, the school hosted lots of festivities, viz:
- Talent show
- Pyjamas Day
- Heritage Day
As I sign off, I would like to wish everyone good health and wealth during this festival time. May the good Lord shelter you under His wing. See you in the next academic year on 19/01/2022.
Hasta la vista.
